Quakers Rise Up!

The 2008 Wilmington College cross country team will be lead by Junior Austin Stiles and Sophomore Brad Orr (both from Johnstown-Monroe High School). If one had to describe this years team the words young and inexperienced might come to mind but don’t let that fool you. Wilmington is young but they are also talented and with another year of collegiate running under their belts will be looking to improve upon their finish from last year. In 2007 Stiles and Orr were the top two runners for Wilmington, at the OAC Championships Stiles placed 17th just missing out on Second Team All-OAC Honors. The team will look to improve upon 2007's 6th place finish.

The Quakers lose only one senior from a very young team last year. At the conference meet the top ten runners for Wilmington consisted of one senior, one junior, one sophomore, and seven freshmen. Wilmington will definitely suprise some teams in the OAC this year and if they don't watch out then come November 1st they might sneak past some teams and climb toward the top of the conference.

Watch for the Quakers to open up their season on August 30th at the Franklin Invitational.
